Common Questions
Shomerli uses advanced technology that understands context. Unlike rule-based filters, we never block religious content by mistake. Our system recognizes the difference between a rabbi's photo and inappropriate content. Plus, our anti-bypass technology detects VPNs, DNS-over-HTTPS, and proxy apps that fool other filters.
Shomerli currently works on Android phones and Windows computers. iPhone, Mac and Chromebook support coming soon. A single family plan covers up to 6 devices across Android and Windows.
Shomerli detects all common bypass methods: VPN apps, DNS-over-HTTPS, DoT, proxy tunnels, Tor, and app uninstall attempts. Parents receive instant alerts when a bypass attempt is detected. The app cannot be removed without an admin code.
Our technology evaluates unblock requests in under 30 seconds. For adult profiles, self-unblock is instant. For child and teen profiles, parent approval is required and notifications are sent immediately.
Absolutely. Shomerli is fully trilingual: French, English, and Hebrew, with Yiddish support planned. The dashboard, notifications, and support are all available in your preferred language.
Our filtering architecture is grounded in primary halakhic sources: the Kuntres HaInternet BaHalakha (Rav Lichtenstein), the psak of Rabbi Doniel Neustadt, and the rulings of the Gedolei HaDor on Internet filtering. Each of our 37 filtering categories maps to specific halakhic sources — from Vayikra 18 to contemporary poskim. Rabbinical supervision is underway for our Montreal launch.
Your protection continues 24/7, including Shabbat and holidays. Our support team is available 24/6 (Sunday through Friday). Shabbat-sensitive notifications can be configured to queue until after Shabbat.
